After 20 years in the software business, a layoff in Southern California, and the realization that 9/11 changed the world as we know it, I returned to Baltimore to be closer to family. Coincidentally, I met and married my husband shortly after coming back to the area.
Since I had already done the hideous commute to Northern Virginia prior to moving to California, I didn't want to resume that maniacal lifestyle so I opted for a career change. I started my own marketing company, VCM Strategic Partners.
At the same time, I went into Nordstrom looking for part-time holiday work. Ten years later, I'm still there as a personal stylist dressing men (& women, too) as the top seller in the store. I've basically stopped my Marketing consulting business to accommodate the ever-growing demands of my Nordstrom career.
Okay, so I didn't really need the MBA from Boston University to do what I'm doing now, but what the hell!
