Stephen Thomas

Stephen Thomas is a relatively new actor and a new playwright. With a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Compliance, Business Law and Risk from St. Mary’s University School of Law, Stephen Thomas has done nearly everything in public policy: research and analyze the law and legislation in public and private sectors, brief the news media on their implications, write speeches on policy for the Colorado governor’s public health and environment chief, and report on public policymaking for commercial print and radio news, including serving as a news anchor in Orlando and as a newspaper reporter in Houston. After he graduated from St. Mary’s magna cum laude in 2019, Stephen shifted from 38 years combined in the media and in the law to the regulatory compliance field. A former Navy journalist–who once served as a Washington-based civilian press spokesman for the veterans’ lobby–Stephen is now a state agency “policy wonk” who also writes about federal lawmaking in the news media and does acting and playwrighting on the side.
